Volunteer at Our Thrift Stores
Hillcrest Thrift Stores fund 40% of Hillcrest's programs, with 83¢ of every dollar going back into the programs. Our wonderful thrift volunteers make that possible! From cashiering to sorting donations and placing items on the floor, we have a place for you. Take ownership of a department and make it your passion project. If you're able, a few hours a week can make a world of difference—or we can find a place for your group! Volunteer at our Lee's Summit or Overland Park locations. Have a group larger than five? Be sure to click the 5+ button below to get started.

Volunteer on Campus
Bring your group to take on a project at one of our residential sites across the Kansas City metro area. Projects may include cleaning apartments or preparing them for new move-ins, landscaping and gardening, building and organizing an on-campus pantry, and more. We have campuses in Lee's Summit, Independence, and Sugar Creek, MO, as well as Kansas City and Overland Park, KS. Campus projects are a great way to offer hands-on support and help provide the best possible space for our families and residents.
Become an Apartment Sponsor
Hillcrest Apartment Sponsors are an integral part of our mission to serve our residents well. Sponsors give an annual donation to support a specific apartment unit on one of our campuses. As clients move in, you build relationships and provide support in a variety of ways. Whether it’s a move-in meal, a birthday surprise, or just an encouraging phone call or note once a month, you get to care for those working so hard in our program. As clients graduate, you also help maintain the apartment.
Other Volunteer Opportunities
Looking for more specific ways to give your time? We have other opportunities available! You can sign up to make meals for our youth residents on Tuesday evenings, put together welcome baskets for new move-ins, write cards of encouragement for our residents, help out at miscellaneous events or one-off projects, or volunteer at our annual Gala. Contact our team to learn how you can help meet some of our other needs.
