In-Kind Donations

donation 50KThere are numerous opportunities to donate in-kind to Hillcrest Transitional Housing:

  • Pack Our Pantry: Hillcrest’s food pantries help clients stick to their weekly budgets. Perishable and non-perishable food items are always in need. Hillcrest also accepts hygiene and cleaning items. Download our list of most needed items here.
  • Thrift Store Donations: Hillcrest Thrift Stores are an important stream of support for our efforts to solve homelessness. Turn your new or gently used items into vital resources that benefit our families and graduates! Donations of clothing, shoes, housewares, furniture, jewelry, accessories, toys, books, and seasonal items can be dropped of at our Lenexa or Lee’s Summit thrift stores.
  • Adopt a Family at Christmas: During the holiday season, our community rallies around our residents to provide gifts and holiday meals. Click here for more information about our Christmas adoption program.
  • Stack the Deck: Donate gift cards to any of our campuses! Our caseworkers use gift cards to big box stores, gas stations, restaurants, and more as incentives, rewards, and encouragement for our clients.

Have something specific to offer? Other in-kind donations are welcomed. Contact us to see how we can put your item(s) to work for Hillcrest.

Have an item of value you’d like to turn into changed lives? Hillcrest can work with you to convert your car, jewelry, stock, or other valuable into a donation.

Help Refresh Our Apartments!

We're updating many of the apartments across our campuses. If you're looking for a way to make a difference that has an immediate result and long-lasting impact, shop our needs list! We're looking for new items, range from table lamps to twin mattresses, and everything in-between.

For questions about our campus refresh projects or to schedule a drop off time, contact Tamara Grubb at tgrubb@hillcrestkc.org.
